Orangutans, smart and resourceful ages 3+

Orangutan fun facts:

Orangutans are some of the cutest, most interesting creatures in our animal kingdom. They are smart, resourceful and have been on our planet for millions of years. These animals have a famous reddish-brown color, and a face that looks remarkably human. While their faces don’t have much hair on them, some orangutans can even have little mustaches!

More Orangutan fun facts:

Orangutans have large bodies. Females are around 3 feet 9 inches tall, and weigh around 80 pounds. Males on the other hand are 4 feet 6 inches tall, and weigh around 165 pounds. To get around, Orangutans walk around on their fists. Their hands are very similar to human hands. They have 4 fingers and a thumb (just like you and I), but their fingers are long and their thumb is much shorter.  Their hands help them travel in the tree line.

Are Orangutans smart:

An important feature of an Orangutan is its intelligence. It is hard to find a more intelligent primate in the animal kingdom. One of the most interesting things about their intelligence is, that Orangutans are known to use tools. These tools help them accomplish tasks though out their day.
