Halloween is one of my favorite holidays of the year. We party hard at my school…. we have pony rides, petting zoo, face painter and balloon twisters. We decorate cookies and pumpkins and partake in a ghoulish sing along. We Trick or Treat throughout the neighborhood gathering hand fulls of candy at each house along the way. The day is filled with laughter and an abundance of sugar induced energy.
I created this fun activity to help my Kindergarten students with Pre-Reading. It is a quiet activity that helps strengthen fine motor skills and demonstrates sentence structure. They have fun while learning basic literacy concepts such as: print is spoken words that are written down, print carries meaning, and we read from left to right, from the top to the bottom of a page, and from the front to the back of a book.
